BRUNT Haymaker is easy to spot and hard to handle.
The paint bull brings plenty of personality before he ever leaves the chute, from his two big horns to his matching shiny green tail bags. When he is teamed up with Triple Aught, the pair has earned the nickname “paint power,” and BRUNT Haymaker looks every bit the part.
Around the barn, he has a softer side. He lets his girl and owner Addi braid his tail, loves a good brushing and will gladly take butt scratches with a hairbrush, especially if an alfalfa cube happens to be part of the deal. He was also Addi’s mom Jenny’s pick from day one, a favorite long before he was making noise on the big stage.
But once the gate opens, the friendly paint bull turns tricky fast.
BRUNT Haymaker has bucked at the World Finals and has built a reputation as a difficult draw for riders, using his spin, timing and power to keep them searching for answers. Even as a calf, he showed what was coming, marked 90-plus points out of both sides and proving early that his talent was not one-dimensional.
He is not just flashy. He is clever, athletic and tough to stay ahead of when he gets into his rhythm.
BRUNT Haymaker may enjoy the pampering at home, but in the arena, he is all business.
